October 28th, Prep Scene will be at Ceder Cliff High School 8:00 AM, on hand evaluating mid-state players at the 2017 Chick-fil-A Colt Shootout. The twelve team field will provide local basketball coaches, players, and enthusiasts an early glimpse into the 2017-2018 season.
The Colts Shootout features the defending PIAA AAAAAA State Champions, Reading Red Knights. Alongside, District III AAAAA Champions and PIAA Semi-Finalists, Northeastern Bobcats and Carlisle Thundering Herd, who also played into the final week of the 2017 season, before losing in the PIAA AAAAAA Final Four. The bracket style, win and advance, post season format consists of Six 2017 District III qualifying teams (Dallastown, Manheim Township, Susquehanna) and six up and coming programs looking for playoff success in 2018 (Cedar Cliff, Central Dauphin, Elizabethtown, Northern, Red Land, South Western).
What to expect: Unlike Pennsylvania’s hotbed of prep basketball, many of central PA’s best athletes play football in the fall. Rosters may be lacking a few notable names do to fall sport participation but Prep Scene will be on the Scene to let you know who should be SEEN during those Hot Winter Nights we all look forward to.
